MyMoneyGOAT ("we", "us", "the site") is operated by MyMoneyGOAT, based in British Columbia, Canada. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using mymoneygoat.com you agree to this policy.

The short version: our calculators run entirely in your browser. The numbers you type into them are never sent to us or stored on our servers. The one exception is when you deliberately submit the "what's your car worth" waitlist form; that information may be shared with participating dealers so they can contact you once the dealer-offer service launches, as described below.

Information we collect

Information you give us. If you use the vehicle-offer form on the car calculator and submit it, you provide your name, email address, phone number, postal/ZIP code, and details about your vehicle (year, make/model, mileage, condition, and our estimated value). You provide this voluntarily in order to receive offers.

Calculator inputs. The figures you enter into any calculator (income, loan amounts, rent, tax details, and so on) are processed locally in your browser to produce results. They are not transmitted to us and we do not store them.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, we and our service providers use cookies and similar technologies to collect standard technical data (such as your IP address, browser type, device, pages viewed, and referring site) for analytics, security, and advertising. This is described under "Cookies and advertising" below.

How we use information

To connect you with participating dealers or partners when you submit the vehicle-offer form.
To operate, maintain, secure, and improve the site and its calculators.
To display advertising and measure its performance.
To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

How information is shared

Vehicle-offer leads. When you submit the vehicle-offer waitlist form, the information you provide may be shared with participating automotive dealers and/or lead partners so they can contact you with offers once the service is live. This is the purpose of that form. Those dealers and partners are independent businesses and their use of your information is governed by their own privacy policies. We may be compensated when we refer a lead.

Service providers. We use third-party providers (for example, website hosting, form processing, and analytics) that process data on our behalf.

We do not sell the calculator inputs you type, and we do not sell personal information beyond the lead-referral service you voluntarily opt into. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights.

Cookies and advertising

We do not currently run a display-advertising network (such as Google AdSense) on this site. The advertising you see today consists of clearly labeled sponsored/affiliate banners served through the CJ (Commission Junction) affiliate network; if you click one, the destination site and its network may set their own cookies under their own privacy policies. If we enable a display-advertising network in the future, third-party vendors would use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites, and we will update this policy at that time.

US visitors can opt out of many third-party ad cookies at aboutads.info; Canadian visitors at YourAdChoices.ca.
You can also control cookies through your browser settings.

Analytics and hosting

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, a cookieless, privacy-focused analytics service, to measure aggregate site traffic (pages viewed, referrers, and similar technical data). It does not use advertising cookies or build cross-site profiles. The site is hosted on Netlify, and the vehicle-offer waitlist form on the car calculator is processed by Netlify Forms; those submissions are stored in our Netlify account until exported or deleted. Both providers process this data on our behalf under their own privacy and security terms.

Affiliate and third-party links

Some links on this site are affiliate or sponsored links to lenders, insurers, tax software, and other partners. If you click them and take an action, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. Once you leave our site, the destination's own privacy policy applies. Your choices and rights

Under Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial law, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we hold about you. If you are in the EU/UK or California, you may have additional rights under the GDPR or CCPA/CPRA, including access, deletion, and opting out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. Data retention and security

We keep vehicle-offer form submissions only as long as needed to provide the referral service and to meet legal and record-keeping obligations, after which they are deleted or anonymized. We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect information, though no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure.

Children

This site is intended for adults and is not directed to children under the age of majority in their jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
